Collectibles hint

Since you'll need all the health and ammo expansions you can get for tough bosses (especially the final boss), you should roam around the game in search of missed expansions whenever you get the chance. The vent systems (blue maze-like areas) has plenty of collectibles that are easy to miss, while the Upper Decks (starting area) has a few secrets as well. Simply use the Hyper Tubes to get around the ship with ease.

Toy Story easter egg

At the start of the game one of the Council Guard NPCs will say "Watch out, I've set my laser from stun to kill!" This is a reference to when Buzz Lightyear says the same thing while in Cid's room during the first Toy Story movie.

Tech Lt. Tyler's secret room

Notice that ladder at the top of the Tech Room? If you can use your booster to reach it (you don't need the Charge Shot), you'll find a room with a few collectibles such as info nodes, an expansion, and a missing record. Even more awesome are the decorations like the Canadian flag and Superman figurine.

Early Expansion locations

As soon as you get out of cryo-sleep and all the Terra-Oozlings have infested the ship, head to the following starting areas to find an expansion:
AREA HOW TO OBTAIN
Captain's Quarters After the Mr. Bubbles scene, destroy the blocks in the upper right to find an expansion.
Holo Room There's an expansion in the upper right area of the map. The charge shot is required, however.
Med Bay Defeat the huge army of enemies and then destroy the blocks at the upper right of the screen to find an expansion
Mess Hall Just enter and you'll immediately see it in the upper area of the room.
Tech Room There's a secret latter at the top of this room that can be reached by jumping and using your blaster to float. Up there is an expansion as well as other collectibles.
Vat Room Go to where there used to be scientists in big yellow vat tubes (room across the hall from Mess Hall) and destroy the block blocking the ladder. Keep going (don't fall in the acid containers) to find an expansion.

Boss Strategies

BOSS STRATEGY
Mech Suit Use the Auto-laser to chip away heavy damage during its attacks where you can stand in a spot and remained unharmed (such as when he shoots the waving pattern of bullets). Also, avoid killing the Council Guards that fall via parachutes as they'll only explode into little oozlings that will fall everywhere.
Waste-Bot Throw grenades it it's mouth to inflict damage and interrupt it's current attack. It will stay motionless for a few seconds, allowing you time to attack. The Radial Gun is also recommeded for the swarm of drones it releases from its mouth.
Slime Boss (first boss) Take out the skeletons as soon as they hit the floor so they don't mess you up later. The cocooned scientists will start morphing before one drops.
Electro-Bot Avoid shooting him when his health bar is green. Doing so will replenish his health.
Teleport-Bot Since the fight takes place on spinning platforms and most of the time the Teleport-Bot will not be in line of sight, the Radial Gun is useful for doing damage while he's located at an angle from you.
Crusher-Bot The Teleporter is vital for dodging the pink/red laser blasts it shoots. Set up a portal on the upper left tram and simply portal back each time you're about to get hit. Also, the Tracker gun is recommended since a lot of times the boss won't be in your line of sight.

Pokemon easter eggs

The Electro-Bot info node mentions that it was "invented by a scientist studying the electric discharge of a large rodent-like species inhabiting the Aichuz-U planet.", a clear references to Pikachu and the Pokemon franchise. The corrupted machine also offers two different electro-shock therapy sessions before the fight, Thundershock and Thunderwave-- two of Pikachu's eletrical attacks.

Vent system hint

The vent systems are the blue maze-light corridors that are infested with Oozligns. Except for when you must reach the Barracks, they're normally not required and only there as a combat-heavy option for reaching destinations. Be sure to explore them as they are filled with plenty of expansions, missing records, and other collectibles.
