BioShock PC Cheats

Summoning weapons, ammunition, and items

Make a text file named Weapons.txt with a text editor and place it in the "System" folder in the game directory, which is typically "C:\Program Files\2K Games\BioShock\Content\System". In the "User.ini" file used in the "Cheat mode" section, bind the following command to any key

exec Weapons.txt

Edit the Weapons.txt file you have just made with any of the following commands listed below. Once you are in the game, use the key you have bound to the "exec Weapons.txt" line. You can also use Plasmid.txt file if already created and use the same key for both types of cheats. Spawned weapons and ammo will appear directly in your inventory. Note: The game has default maximum ammo carrying capacities for each weapon (for example, you can normally carry a maximum of 48 standard pistol rounds) Thus if you try to summon 999 pistol rounds with the pistol in your inventory, the game will automatically limit you to 48 rounds. However if you summon 999 rounds before you first acquire the pistol, then you will have 999 rounds available in your inventory.

Note 1: If you have 9999 Adam and press your summon key a second time, the counter will simply reset itself to zero then tick back up to 9999 again. This appears to be the maximum value the game will allow.
Note 2: You can also use the GiveItem code to increase your maximum health and EVE capacity, or add more Plasmid and Tonic slots. Apparently it is best to increase health and EVE by 1 "point" at a time. After about 12 points the health and EVE bar graphics become so long they are distracting.

Note: Change all < and > characters into < and >

Cheat Codes

Note: You must have v1.1 of the game to enable all codes. Some but not all codes can be used with earlier versions. Note: This procedure requires editing a game file; creating a backup copy of the file before proceeding is recommended. You will need to allow hidden files and folders to be shown in order to edit this particular .ini file. Use a text editor to edit the "User.ini" file found in the following locations:

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Bioshock\

"Fully Researched Little Sister" achievement hint

After getting the camera and Hypnotize Big Daddy tonic, find a Big Daddy and follow him until he walks up to one of the wall vents. If you haven't already saved or harvested the Little Sister, he will hit the wall and one will crawl out. Take as many pictures as you can until you can't get any more research, then use Hypnotize Big Daddy. The Little Sister will crawl back into the vent. After Hypnotize wears off, the Big Daddy will hit the wall again, bringing out another Little Sister. Repeat the process to unlock the achievement.

"Little Sister Savior" achievement hint

Don't harvest a single Little Sister as you play the game. Tenebaum will reward you with gifts (and Adam) every time you rescue three Little Sisters. This is better since you get the same amount of Adam as you would if you harvested them but you also get the achievement hint.

Pac Man easter egg

In the Arcadia level you will find a place that appears to be a bar. Look around a bit and you will see a block of cheese followed by holes. The cheese is cut like Pac-Man himself and there are holes next to it, none of which can be gun shots. If you shoot the floor with any weapon you have, the marks will not match.
