-Use the trait reminders under the Normal and Hard difficulty, except on the final gene.
-Look for bonus genes to attack the CPU. Identify traits with them at the same time. Attacks will delay the CPU player, especially the Hammer, Skull, and Bombs, and will give you more time to identify genes.
-When attempting to identify a specific trait, choose stock creatures having the same trait as your pet's desired meal. For example, to identify the mouth gene and your pet asks for buck teeth, drag stock creatures with buck teeth.
-Start by dragging three stock creatures sharing one obvious common trait (for example, color or eye count). When you are fast enough, make sure that two of those stock creatures also share a second common trait in order to identify two gene columns.
-Locate and identify as many traits as you can using the same Source DNA. Dragging new stock creatures takes time.
-Once a gene is identified, add it to your Target DNA, provided you used a meal gene.
-Keep bonus genes in a ready state while identifying traits. When you find a useful bonus, try keeping those three genes in the Source DNA windows until you can use it. Memorize the trait to which the bonus is assigned in case the other player hammers your board. By doing this you can bring it back quickly.
-Collect bonuses so your opponent doesn't get them.
