Getting Havel's Armor

Havel's Armor, probably one of the best heavy armor sets in the original Dark Souls, can also be obtained in Dark Souls II. To obtain it, go to the first bonfire in The Gutter. From there, turn and jump down to the building below with a ladder. Climb up the ladder and enter the dark cave containing poison-spitting creatures. Defeat them and open the Forgotten Door, then smash the vase near the back wall to obtain Havel's Armor.

Gestures Guide

Gestures are performed to interact with other players, be it to taunt them or try and communicate. The following is a list of all gestures in the game followed by how to obtain them:
GESTURE HOW TO OBTAIN
"Decapitate" In the Shaded Woods, go to the Ruined Fork Road bonfire and take the foggy rightmost path. Stay to the left of the area while  looking for a little inlet that leads to a pile of debris. You can actually speak to the skull atop the pile - it's the Head of Vengarl, and it can teach you a new gesture if you keep talking to it.
"Duel Bow" Joining the Blue Sentinels covenant is required to learn this gesture. Once you join, speak to Blue Sentinel Targray to learn it.
"Fist Pump" After opening the Undead Lockaway bonfire in Huntsman's Copse, speak to the man inside. After a few exchanges he'll teach you the gesture.
"Have Mercy!" Upon entering the Undead Crypt, move ahead until a voice warns you against producing light. Take the stairs in this room to find a small alcove housing Grave Warden Agdayne. Repeatedly talk to him and eventually he will teach you this gesture.
"Hurrah!" The Ashen Mist Heart is required to learn this gesture. The Ashen Mist Heart allows you to step into the memories of the trees in Forest of the Fallen Giants. Go into the Memory of Vammar, which is found within the tree near the Cardinal Tower bonfire. Proceed down the tunnel and speak to Captain Drummond until he gives you the option to learn the gesture.
"Joy" Bernhart offers this gesture. You encounter him a few times, first after de-petrifying Rosabeth and then again at the Central Castle Drangleic bonfire. Speak to him enough times and he'll teach you the gesture.
"Mock" Straid of Olaphis offers this in The Lost Bastille, but getting to him is a bit complicated. Start from the Servants' Quarters bonfire, head outside, and follow the walkway into the next tower. Go up the spiral steps here, then through the wine casket room into the room full of clay figures. Go up the stairs here, then up the following set to find a bunch of mummy enemies near some jail cells. Take them out, then look to the left cell to spot a petrified NPC - this is Straid. Use a Fragrant Branch of Yore to restore him, then talk to him to get the option to learn the gesture.
"Praise the Sun" Though this gesture is associated with the Heirs of the Sun covenant, you can learn it without actually joining. You must first find the Altar of Sunlight, which is  found in Harvest Valley just before entering Earthen Peak. As you head up the slope into the peak interior, you'll pass by some windmill blades. Take the left path under the blades into a narrow passageway. Take out the enemy around the right corner, the continue down the path to the Sunlight Altar. Kneel here to join the covenant.
"Prostration" From the Central Earthen Peak bonfire in Earthen Peak, ascend the stairs and into the hall. Step out onto the windmill balcony and move left to meet Laddersmith Gilligan. Talk to him, and you'll have an opportunity to learn the gesture.
"This One's Me" When you enter Drangleic Castle proper, ascend the stairs and speak to Chancellor Wellager. Eventually, he'll give you the option to learn this gesture.
"Warmup" Purchasing the Ring of Whispers from Sweet Shalquoir in Majula is required for this. From the Shaded Ruins bonfire in Shaded Woods, head up the slope and turn left. Enter the crumbling building, go downstairs, and exit to a small, sandy area. Out here is Manscorpion Tark, who will only talk to you if you're wearing the Ring of Whispers. Do so a few times, and he'll teach you the gesture.
"Welcome" Joining the Way of Blue covenant is required. Once you join, speak to Saulden to learn this.

Crown Of The Sunken King: Elana, the Squalid Queen

When the fight starts, rush Elana and inflict as much damage as you can before she reacts. Besides her skeleton summons, she can use flame attacks and a spear at close range. After the skeletons spawn, back up to avoid getting ambushed. You can ignore them unless they charge you since you'll be hitting them while attacking Elana anyways. Stay on the move to avoid Elana's ranged flame spells and move toward her. If you can remain behind her while you attack, you can avoid most of her damage and some of the skeletons. Elana will sometimes teleport, then usually cast another spell when she reappears. Because she takes so long to cast, you can get one or two free hits before dodging the spell. Focus on staying on Elana's back and continuously move to avoid her spells and attacks. Defeating her will reward you with Soul of Elana, Squalid Queen. The large dragon door behind her will now be open. Enter it to find a bonfire and a mist doorway that leads to Sinh, the Slumbering Dragon.

Majula mansion key

There is a locked two-story mansion in the back corner of Majula, just by the armor shop. To obtain the key that unlocks it, go to the Forest Of The Fallen Giants and near the bonfire you'll find a path on a road leading down next to the cliffs. Defeat the Cardinal Tower bonfire, then go down the ladder and defeat the two enemies near the arched bridge. Once done, enter the door on the left and walk through the white mist to enter a tougher area. Walk up the sloping tree and drop down onto the rooftop to your right, then jump over to the scaffolding and enter the cave. Wait close to the entrance until a big boulder rolls past, then continue up the passage to your left to reach the cartographer. Speak with the cartographer several times until he gives you the key, then return to the mansion door in Majula and open it. Deep inside the basement of the mansion is a map of the continent. Proceed down the steps into a small ruin to find your reward; a Soul Vessel in a treasure chest and an Estus Flask upgrade on a dead body.

To enter the large pit in the center of Majula a special ladder is needed. To obtain it, go to the Central Earthen Peak bonfire, past Hunter's Copse and through Harvest Valley. There you will see an outer walkway in the large tower, looking out over a big window. Go along the walkway and destroy the wooden railings, then proceed along the ledge left to reach a man. He will offer to lend you a bridge for 2,000 souls when you speak to him. After obtaining his services, he will return to Majula. You may also need to buy the "Miniature Ladder" model in his inventory for 6,699 souls. He will be waiting near the large pit in Majula. Speak with him there and he will offer to build another ladder. The length of the ladder is based on your donation —- the more the donation, the longer the ladder will reach. 500 souls will get the shortest ladder, 3,000 souls will get a middle length ladder, and 12,000 souls will get the longest ladder. Abouty halfway down the pit you will reach the entrance to the optional Tomb Of Saints, which also leads to The Gutter.

CONTRAPTION LOCATION
Contraption #1 In Forest of Fallen Giants. Head through the area near the Cardinal Tower Bonfire until reaching Pate. Make a right near him to notice an archway with some ballistas. Step inside, then back out immediately. The undead soldiers will fire the ballistas, then chase you. Take them out, then head inside. On the lower level is the Pharros Contraption; use a lockstone to reveal a secret room hidden by a fake blue wall. Inside are two chests with a Titanite Slab and a Chloranthy Ring.
Contraption #2 In No-Man's Wharf. There are many set of stairs embedded in a hill in this area. When you go upthe first set, make a right. Eliminate the bandit and his dog, then make another right to find this contraption on the ground. This won’t net you any treasure, but it will illuminate the entire cavern, making navigation easier and frightening the poisonous enemies indoors.
Contraption #3 In The Lost Bastille, located directly beneath the Servants' Quarters bonfire. Climb down the ladder in the corner to find it, then use a lockstone to reveal a fake blue wall. Head through to gain access to a new area, Belfry Luna.
Contraption #4 In The Last Bastille. From the Servant's Quarters bonfire, jump across some rooftops. Drop down, take out the dogs, and head down this alleyway. Climb the ladder, jump through the window, and take out the mini knight on the other side. Proceed the next room, and check the wall to your right to find another contraption. Use a lockstone to reveal two fake blue walls. Behind one is a Soul Vessel; behind the other is a Wilted Dust Herb.
Contraption #5 In Doors of Pharros. The thing about this place is that every Pharros' Contraption here creates traps meant for the Rat King covenant. There are minor prizes behind some, but genereally you should avoid using your lockstones here.
Contraption #6 In Earthen Peak you'll find yourself in a chamber with poison water below. Step down the stairs, then follow the hall to the right, then take the first right. Take out the poison enemies here, then look along the wall for the contraption. Use a lockstone to reveal a fake blue wall. Behind it is a chest containing the Poisonbite Ring.
Contraption #7 In Earthen Peak. Go to the the poison pool before the fog gate. To the right of the gate is a lit passage; follow it, then make another right. In here are a few poisonous enemies and pots, plus a contraption. Use a lockstone to create a pool of poison, and after setting the windmill aflame this pool becomes water, which heals poison and restores health.
Contraption #8 In Iron Keep, after lowering the first bridge in Iron Keep. Cross over, then make a right. From here, you can jump to a lower ledge near the lava and enter the small room. Climb the ladder and take out the knight here, then use a lockstone on the contraption against the wall. This creates a pool of water. Stand in this, and your character will get wet, giving you some resistance against the fire and lava in the area.
Contraption #9 In Iron Keep. Upon entering the second area with all the walkways, make an immediate left to find a contraption along the wall. Use a lockstone to reveal a fake blue wall. Bust through to find a ladder to a chest containing a Thunder Quartz Ring +1. This also opens the passageway to Belfry Sol.
Contraption #10 In Iron Keep. Go to the second section of Iron Keep (with the walkways and greatbow-wielders) and take the ladder in the back, then follow the stairs to a second ladder. This leads you to another Pharros' Contraption. Like the first one in the area, this creates a pool of water you can use to temporarily boost your fire resistance.
Contraption #11 In Grave of Saints. Most contraptions found on the path to the Grave Entrance bonfire are meant for the Rat King covenant; they merely activate traps. Only the two directly across from bridges are useful to you otherwise. They lower their respective bridges, giving you access to a room where you'll find a corpse holding the Whisper of Despair hex.
Contraption #12 In Shrine of Amana, just across the water from the Crumbled Ruins bonfire. Place a lockstone reveal a fake blue wall. Bust through to find a chest containing the Helix Halberd.
Contraption #13 In Undead Crypt, found inside the room where you drop into and bells ring. Look for a spot on the wall with no bevel; interact with this to reveal a fake wall. Behind this is a Pharros' Contraption. Use a lockstone to reveal another fake blue wall. Smash through to find a chest containing Oleford's Staff and the Great Lightning Spear miracle.
Contraption #14 In Aldia's Keep. After ascending the stairs to the top floor, you'll find a pull-chain on a dragon statue. Pull it to open the next room, head inside, and make an immediate right. There's a contraption along the wall here. Use a lockstone to light the torches in the hall, making the area a little easier to navigate.
Contraption #15 In Dragon Shrine. Just up the slope near the Shrine Entrance bonfire is this archway; head underneath to find a contraption. Use a lockstone to reveal a fake blue wall, then bust through to find a chest holding the Staff of Wisdom and Judgment Armor (Full Set).
Contraption #16 In Memory of Orro, which is accessed by using the Ashen Mist Heart on the fallen giant beyond the Pursuer boss area. Inside, take the left path up to find a room with ballistas and Hollow Soldiers. You'll find a contraption here too. Use a lockstone to reveal a fake blue wall, then bust through to find a second contraption and chest. The rigged chest contains a soul, and the other contraption is a trap. You'll also find a fake wall in here that allows you to acquire the Steel Armor (Full Set).

Merchants Locations Guide

Merchants and the items they offer will make things much easier. If you ever run out of souls, you can invade a merchant, kill them, feed on their corpse, and loot the dropped items. Note: certain merchants have permanent locations while others move around in the World:
MERCHANT LOCATION
Merchant Hag Melentia She is found upon starting the game at the Cardinal Tower Bonfire in Forest of Fallen Giants. You can exhaust her dialogue options to trigger a move to Majula where she will stay for the rest of the game. Killing the NPCs around will update her inventory. Spend 10,000 souls on her merchandise and after selecting thee talk option in her extended menu, she will reward you with Covetous Silver Serpent Ring. If you do not want to spend your souls, you can kill her to drop Covetous Silver Serpent Ring with 2,500 souls for you to consume.
Maughlin The Armorer Found in the Forge in Majula. If you purchase items worth at least 1000 souls, he will upgrade his inventory to add more unique items. Spending 16,000 souls will upgrade the inventory second time to include more unique items. After upgrading his inventory the second time, speak to him with zero souls in your possession to get free Armor of Aurous. Majula is Maughlin’s permanent location, and if you ever invade him, you will get 3500 souls from his grave and Tseldora Cap, Tseldora Robe, Tseldora Manchettes, and Tseldora Trousers.
Blacksmith Lenigrast Found locked inside his house and to free him; you will need a key. You can buy the key to unlock his house from Hag Melentia in Forest of Fallen Giants. After freeing him, he will resume his work out of his shop in Majula. Spend 8,000 souls on his merchandise and he will reward you with Blacksmith’s Hammer. Killing the Blacksmith will earn you theBlacksmith’s Hammer and 2,000 souls.
Sweet Shalquoir Found in one of the houses at the edge of The Pit in Majula. She is one of the merchants who offers rare items at the start of the game. If you ever run out of consumables in the game, you can always count on Shalquoir for that after you have unlocked the door to the Shrine of Winter, as it is a condition that forces her to maintain an unlimited supply of consumables.
Stone Trader Chloanne Found near Poison Pool Bonfire in Harvest Valley. Exhaust her dialogue options to relocate her to Majula. A free Twinkling Titanite is yours by spending at least 20,000 souls on her merchandise and access the talk option in her expended menu. Killing her will get you Palestone and 2,500 souls.
Lonesome Gavlaan At the start, he is foundat the top floor in a house in No-Man’s Wharf. Talk to him there to exhaust his dialogue options, and he will move to Harvest Valley in a cave adjoining the large poison pool next to Chloanne’s starting position. Speakingto him in the Harvest Valley will trigger a move to Doors of Pharros in the circular anti-chamber on the way to Brightstone Cove Tseldora where he will stay for the remainder of the game. Gavlaan is the only merchant you can sell your items to so AVOID KILLING HIM! However, a drop Gyrm Greataxe will drop from him if killed. You can also get Gyrm GreatAxe if you spend at least 15,000 souls on his merchandise and then choose talk from his expanded menu.
Rosabeth of Melfia She is found at the entrance of Shaded Woods. She is basically a hurdle in your way to start with. You need to cure her with Fragrant of Yore before you can gain access to the areas beyond her.Give her some armor to make her move to Majula. You can give her any combination of armor using her expanded menu in order to achieve this. You can buy basic Pyromancy spells from her and upgrade your Pyromancy Flame if the need be.Killing her will drop Fire Seed, and you can consume 4,000 souls from her grave.
Steady Hand McDuff He is found in the cell which you can access from The Tower Apart Bonfire in The Lost Bastille though you will need the Bastille Key to unlock the door. Alternatively, you can blow your way into his cell, which is a bit tricky. To blow it, a keg of gunpowder is required-- which you can find at the top of the stairs. Position it next to the cracked wall at the bottom of the steps and set it off. To do it safely, use firebombs. Things get even more tricky if you have enemies surrounding you while you are trying to blow your way to the merchant (that didn’t sound well, did it?). Eliminate the enemies to be on the safe side. To loot the treasure McDuff is sitting on, light the torch near the anvil at the far end of the room to lure him away from the treasure chest. Killing McDuff will drop Titanite Slab and 3,500 souls.
Carhillion of the Fold He is found at the docks of No-Man’s Wharf. To do business with him, you need to have base intelligence equal to 8 or more. Defeat the Flexile Sentry and exhaust his dialogue options to make him move to Majula.Carhillion sells you Pyromancy Spells and can upgrade your Pyromancy Flame similar to Rosabeth of Melfia. If you speak to him with base intelligence of more than 30, he will reward you with Northern Ritual Band. Invading and killing him will earn you Northern Ritual Band and 3,500 souls.
Laddersmith Gilligan He starts in Earthen Peak but is quite tough to locate. Climb the castle to the landing at which you see a large windmill attached to the axle.Destroy the wooden railings to reach the balcony. Step onto the ledge and follow it to the left to find Gilligan. You will need to purchase the ladder, he offers to gain access to the items on the ledge below. Speak to him and exhaust his dialogue options to make him move to Majula. You can either do that or defeat Mytha, the Baneful Queen. You will need to access his expanded Talk’ option to make him move. After buying the ladder, he will reward you with Melu Scimitar. Note that it is the most expensive item he has in his inventory. You can kill him to retrieve Melu Scimitar and Ladder Miniature in dropped items on top of 13,000 souls that you can consume.
Straids of Olaphis He is found petrified in a cell at the top of the Lost Bastille. Use a branch of Yore to cure him and gain access to his inventory of spells and unique items though getting the unique weapons and armor will require the sacrifice of boss souls. One hurdle in your way would be the enemies surrounding Straid’s cell. You must first get rid of them. Do note that they may explode damaging Straid in the process. He will drop Black Hood when killed and 14,000 souls for you to consume.
Licia of Lindelt She is found above Dragonrider Boss in Heide’s Tower of Flame. Licia though will only talk to the character that at least has base stat of 8? Faith. Exhaust her dialogue options to make her move to underground Rotunda behind Shalquoir’s house in Majula. By paying for her services, you can switch the Rotunda’s path between Tower of Flame and Huntsman’s Corpse. Speaking to her with the base stats of 30? or more faith will get you her full armor as a reward. If you use the Crushed Eye Orb while inside Rotunda, she will be tagged as a traitor, and you will have to fight her in a battle to the death. Killing her will get Idol’s Chime and Rotunda Lockstone with 7,000 souls to consume from her grave.
Felkin the Outcast He is found sitting on his chair facing the wall before the Undead Refuge Bonfire in Hunstman’s Corpse. You need an intelligence and Faith of at least 8 before you can engage him in business. You can get full set of his equipment if you speak to him when your intelligence and faith are at least 20? or above. Killing him will drop Sunset Staff with 9,000 souls for you to consume.
Royal Sorcerer Navlaan He is found sealed behind a barrier on the ground floor of Aldia’s Keep. Talk to him as a hollow to initiate his assassination quests. You can release him by pulling the lever on the opposite side of the manor. Note that once released he will invade you during your assassination quests. You can gain access to his expanded menu by either releasing him and talking to him as a human or completing all this assassination quests and talking to him as a hollow. Also, you can get the items you need to give to Navlaan without killing your targets. After completing all his assassination quests you will be rewarded with Chaos armor set.
Weaponsmith Ornifex Ornifex is found locked in an underground cave in the Shaded Ruins. Look for the underground cave directly below the false floor near the Giant Basilisk. To free her, you need the Fang Key. After freeing her, she will move to Brightstone Cove Bonfire in Brightstone Cove Tseldora unlocking her expanded menu. You can trade her Boss Souls for unique weapons or upgrade your basic weapons using her services. Because you free her, your first Boss Soul trade will be free of charge. Killing her won’t drop any item, but you will have 11,000 souls to consume.
Chancellor Wellagar He is found standing at the top of the Staircase in Drangleic Castle. Speak to him to gain access to his inventory, and you can extend his offerings by defeating the Glass Knight. You cannot kill the undead; it’s impossible. Defeat the Giant Lord and access Talk from his expanded menu to get Royal Dirk and Espada Ropera.
Cromwell The Pardoner He is difficul to find but well worth considering you can purchase a lot of magic spells from him. Although he is in Attic of Brightstone Cove Chapel. Exit the Prowling Magus Boss room and turn around to face the building, look for semi-circular aisle with a ladder leading to the top floor. He can completely absolve of your sins provided you are willing to pay him his service charges. With your base Faith stat 35 or above, use his expanded talk option to get Ring of Resistance.
Sparkling Sisters Dyna and Tillo They are found in the Bird’s nest on a cliff past the Fire Keeper’s Dwelling Bonfire in Things Betwixt. Enter the first fog gate and follow the path until you exit a fog gate and drop on to a ledge. From here, look for this nest to the left by the ladder. To trade items, you will need to drop them in the nest using the ‘Leave’ option. Though note that the rewards you will get for these trades will be random.
Grave Warden Agdayne He is found in the antechamber in the Undead Crypt. Make sure you meet the Warden without any source of light. If you enter with your torch, it will turn all the wardens hostile to you and that’s not what you want. Acquire the King Ring and use Talk’ option from his expanded menu to get full set of equipment from Agdayne as a reward. Killing him will drop Agdayne’s Kilt and give you 3,000 souls to consume.
Vengarl of Forossa His head is found in the foggy section of Shaded Woods. To enter the area, exit the Ruined Fork Road Bonfire room through the door to the right and walk towards the fog. Follow the left wall and you should eventually see his head.
